James W. Hoffman
JANESVILLE, WI - James W. Hoffman, 76, of Janesville, formerly of La Crosse, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville.
Jim was born on September 24, 1947 in Fort Atkinson, son of the late Willis and Agnes (Wallace) Hoffman.
Jim was hard working, caring and kind. He was always curious about people and would take the time to hear their story and what was important to them. He was a life member of Wild Rose Fire Department as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge. Jim was an avid hunter and loved his dogs dearly.
Jim had been employed as the finance manager for many years at La Crosse Truck Center. Jim and Judy were avid travelers. They loved going to Vegas and seeing the shows and they loved going on bus tours around the United States.
Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Verage; children, Carrie (Demere) Eshete, Brad (significant other, Jen Roden) Wall, Brian Wall, Lynn (Tony) Wilson, Kim Kiernicki and Tim (Dawn) Hoffman; siblings, Willis "Bill" (Nora) Hoffman III, Jeff (significant other, Shari Anderson) Hoffman and Julie Hoffman; brother-in-law, David Rickel and many grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jane E. Rickel.
A private family graveside service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM
Memorials may be made to the American Heart & Lung Association or American Cancer Association.
Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson is assisting the family.
