A. Brown Obituary

A. KENDALL BROWN, MD Resident of Glendale for 54 years passed away at home on Apri l 1, 2006, nine days short of his 96th birthday. He was born April 10, 1910 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Raised on a farm, he left the country life behind, coming to California, attending the College of Medical Evangelists (now Loma Linda University) graduating with his medical degree in 1943. He proudly served as Jr. Medical Officer on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge during WWII. Following the war he specialized in pediatrics, setting up practice in Glendale in 1952. During his 32 years of prac tice at the Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Dr. Brown cared for thousands of children and served as Chief of Pediatrics for 20 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Leona, and will be greatly missed by his twin brother, J. Bruce Brown, MD; daughters, Nancy Anderson, Suzi Impliazzo and son-in-law, Dennis Anderson, PhD. He also leaves four grandchildren and two great grandsons. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Glendale City Seventh-day Adven tist Church on Saturday, April 8, 2006, 5:00 p.m. In honor of his great love and care for children, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the A+ Adventist Children's Center, 234 North Isabel St., Glendale, CA 91206.
