James Needham

JAMES W. NEEDHAM, MD Age 81, born in San Augustine, Texas on December 28, 1925, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007. He is survived by his children, John Needham and wife Judy, Astryd Allen and husband Richard, Noele de Saint Gall, Michele Needham, Kathryn Caulfield and husband Tim, Richard Needham and wife Regina, Erin Collard and husband Mark, and Patrick Needham; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and fri end Angela and family. Dr Needham graduated from San Augustine High School, Texas in 1941. In 1942, he attended the University of Texas in Austin. He entered Yale University School of Medicine in 1944, on a full scholarship, graduated with honors and awarded the Parker Prize in 1948. During 1948-1951, Dr Needham completed his internship and Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. From 1951 -1955 he served as a USAF Flight Surgeon and attained the rank of captain. In 1955, Dr Needham started his prac tice in Van Nuys, California. In 1962, he received his Board Certification in Internal Medicine and was an Assistant clinical professor at UCLA and also was a Medical consultant for the March of Dimes. In 1960, he became a fellow of the American Geriatric Society. He was on staff at Valley Hospital Medical Center and Valley Presbyterian Hospital for 45 years. Dr Needham was a much beloved internist. He had a reputation for personal integrity and the highest medical standards. He was loved by his patien ts and well respected by his peers. Private service.
