Anna Brantley Obituary

Anna Ruth Brantley, 88, of Speedwell, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 2. She was born on June 26, 1934, to the late James and Elsie (Leach) McCarty.

Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and mother-in-law. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, watching gospel music and preaching on TV.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arvil Ivo Brantley; sons, Richard Brantley, Jerry Floyd Brantley, David Ivo Brantley and Larry Marvin Brantley; brother, George McCarty; and sisters, Dorothy Ellis and Lois Bowman.

She is survived by her son, Owen Keith Brantley and wife, Lillian, of Georgia; daughter, Sheila Brantley of Georgia; sister, Mildred Russell of Speedwell; daughter-in-law, Ann Brantley; special friend, Sandra Russell; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

The funeral service was on Thursday, Nov. 4 at Martin-Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Guy officiating. Family and friends met on Friday, Nov. 5 at Martin-Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to McCarty Cemetery for interment.
