Carol Derry Obituary

Carol Lynn Derry, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 5 at her home in Jacksboro. She was the best wife, mom, nana, sister, daughter and friend.

She loved the outdoors, and riding her Harley with her husband was her favorite pastime. She loved to be with her grandkids and kids.

She was of the Christian faith and loved talking to the Lord while in nature. She was a protector to everyone she loved, which was many because she touched many people's lives.

She was the president of Confidence Construction Company.

She is preceded in death by her parents, J. D. and Ellen Kennedy; loving brother, Danny Kennedy; and grandma, Omey Kennedy.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Terry Derry of Jacksboro; daughter, Kimberly Derry of Jacksboro; son, Nick Derry and wife, Kalea, of Clinton; the loves of her life, her grandkids, Ayden Lebron Derry, Makai Derry, Treyson Derry, Kannon Derry; brothers, Rick Kennedy and Jimmy Balcolm; sisters, Christy Shumacher, Joy Balcom-Zaehringer, Gay Huber, Pam; and several friends and other family members who she loved dearly to mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in Cross-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Moser officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Lowe Cemetery in Caryville for an 11 a.m. interment.
