Mildred Norman Obituary

Mildred Azalea Bowman Norman, age 93, of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, Homer Norman, Sr.; parents, John Frank and Roberta Jane (Birdie) Riggs Bowman; sister, Willene Bowman McGhee; Elizabeth 'Liz' Bowman Thompson; Pansey Bowman; brothers, Bobby Bowman and Everett 'Lefty' Bowman; grandchildren, Paul Charles; Vicky Norman and Kelly McNeil; daughter-in-law, Reba Morgan Norman and son-in-law, Bill McNeil.
She is survived by daughters, Rachel Anne McNeil of LaFollette; Brenda Johnson of Winder, Ga.; Jeannie Kitts and husband, Mutt of LaFollette; sons, Homer Norman, Jr. (Charles) and wife, Jerri of Knoxville; Jess Norman and wife, Darlene of LaFollette; David Norman of LaFollette; sisters, Patsy Shepherd; Mary Bratcher; Christine Bagwell, who also was her very special caregiver; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. A grand host of nieces, nephews and other beloved relatives and dear family friends.
Services were held March 1 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Derick Hembree and the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2 at Campbell Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dusty Kitts, Steve Johnson, Mike Johnson, Chris Johnson, Jeremy Johnson and Dave Norman.
Cross-Smith Funeral Home, of LaFollette, is in charge of arrangements.
