Dorothy Goss Obituary

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Dorothy Atchison Goss of 2923 Gwendon Terrace in Decatur will be Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 11:00AM at the Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church at 3074 Rainbow Drive in Decatur. Pastor Johnny Beasley Jr. and Pastor Joannie Baskerville will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 2284 Candler Road in Decatur.

Mrs. Goss, a native of the Hillcrest Community of Troup County, was born July 18, 1949 and was the daughter of Rebecca Hayes Atchison and the late Alton Atchison Sr. She joined the Rising Grove Baptist Church at a very early age and later united with Greater Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur. She was a 1968 graduate of Ethel W. Kight High School. She was employed with National Envelope Company for more than 39 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 40 years, Willie Goss; daughter, Chanda Delicia Goss; granddaughter, Qyneshia La'Cole Willis, all of Decatur; mother, Rebecca Atchison, LaGrange; two sisters: Rebecca Murphy, Columbus, GA; Yvonne Atchison, LaGrange; four brothers: Alton Atchison Jr., Nathaniel Atchison, Miami, FL; Johnny (Patricia) Atchison, Augusta, GA; Bobby Atchison, LaGrange; sixteen nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews; one great-great nephew; brother-in-law: Walter Goss, Lexington, KY; two uncles: Bobby Lee (Jo) Jones, LaGrange; John (Henri Jean) Potts, Detroit, MI; two aunts: Eva Mae Smith, LaGrange; Nellie Potts, Detroit, MI; many cousins and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her grandparents: Robert and Daisy Cameron Hayes; aunts and uncles of the Atcherson and Cameron families; and mother-in-law, Marie Potts Goss.

Gregory B. Levett and Sons Funeral Home at 4347 Flat Shoals Parkway, Decatur, GA 30034 is in charge of arrangements.
