Katherine Knize Obituary

The beloved daughter of Duane and Lynn Knize passed away after a brief illness.Katy was a graduate of La Jolla High School and UC Santa Cruz and Magna Cum Laude graduate of Samuel Merrit University's nursing program. After college, she settled in the San Francisco Bay Area where she was a clinical research coordinator at UC San Francisco. She enjoyed hiking and sailing and was a loving care giver to her grandparents, Joan and Burton Rice of Walnut Creek. Katy brought humor and joy to her friendships and will be sorely missed.She is survived by her adoring older brother, Michael, her parents, and her grandfather.There will be a remembrance gathering in Katy's honor at the La Jolla Bridge Club on June 15.We encourage all to remember Katy through future acts of kindness and humor.

Duane and Lynn, It is very special to see and read about your very accomplished daughter, Katherine. She has a beautiful smile, and I am sure she brought joy to many people during her life. With sincere condolences to all the Knize family.
