Robert Kackley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Forest Funeral Home - Shelton on Nov. 8, 2025.
Robert Vinton Kackley, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Lacey, Washington, at the age of 84.
Robert was born on November 26, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas, to John Joseph Kackley and Georgia Mae (Strobel) Kackley. Throughout his life, he called many places home, including Hays and Wichita, Kansas; La Jolla and San Diego, California; and for the past 44 years, Olympia and Lacey, Washington.
He attended Hays High School in Hays, Kansas, before continuing his education at La Jolla High School, graduating with the Class of 1958. Robert later attended San Diego Junior College in 1959.
In 1967, Robert married Connie Lou (Neal) Kackley in San Bernardino, California. Together they shared many meaningful years and raised two children before parting ways in 1985.
Robert's professional life reflected his strong work ethic and personable nature. He worked as a car salesman from 1960 to 1993, earning the respect and friendship of many customers and colleagues. Later, he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit by owning and operating several espresso stands from 1992 until his passing.
Beyond his work, Robert led a full and spirited life. He toured Europe in 1958 and carried a lifelong appreciation for travel and culture. A devoted sports enthusiast, he especially enjoyed baseball and basketball, and was a loyal fan of the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Robert's greatest joys, however, came from time spent with family, playing poker, dancing, and attending concerts.
Robert is survived by his son, Eric Vinton Kackley of Skamania, Washington; his daughter, Marlene Ranee (Kackley) Shearer of Olympia, Washington; his brother, Richard Dee Kackley of Ontario, California; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Joseph Kackley; his mother, Georgia Mae (Strobel) Kackley; his brothers, John Joseph Kackley Jr. and Harold William Kackley; his sister-in-law, Patricia Ann (DeDucca) Kackley; and, his second wife, Christine Erna (Goeble, Lundt, Kackley) Lundt.
Robert will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His kindness and lively spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
Funeral or memorial service details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
