Jeffery Heinis Obituary
Bertha, Minnesota. He passed away on February 11, 2026 at his home in
Skokomish Valley.
Jeff's family moved to Arcadia near Shelton when he was two years old.
He spent his youth playing in the woods, fields and Mill Creek.
He attended South Side Elementary School and Shelton Junior High and
High School graduating in 1968. After high school he attended St.
Martins College and graduated from The Evergreen State College with a
degree in fisheries biology.
He married Patti Bourgault in 1973 and had two children, Ian and
Clinton.
Jeff spent a lot of his time outdoors hiking, hunting and fishing. On
one of his hiking trips on the south fork of the Skokomish River, he
found a million year old salmon fossil which is now on display at the
Burke Museum in Seattle.
He is survived by his children Ian and Clinton and a brother Mark
Heinis.

Uncle Jeff was always a fixture in my life. I spent a large portion of my childhood in his household. He was always a very kind to me. He was always very generous with me. I learned a great deal about life in the time we shared. I always enjoyed his sense of humor and his wit. There are far too many memories for me to share here. He may be gone from this world, but I will never forget all the great times memories.
Adios, La Cucaracha. I hope to see you again someday.
