Dorothy Mieszala Obituary

Dorothy Mieszala, 85, of Libertyville, IL died November 16, 2007 at the Winchester House in Libertyville. Dorothy was born on April 17, 1922 in Chicago, IL.

She married fellow Tuley High School graduate Chester Mieszala on April 27, 1944, and moved to Libertyville in 1954. Dorothy worked at the Chicago Screw Company from 1940-1953, at the Benedictine Convent in Mundelein from 1970-1977, and at Family Care Services from 1977-1993. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Libertyville, for 53 years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Chester (April 25, 1973); her father, Michael Busse (January 5, 1982); and her mother, Eva (nee Pulaski) on January 12, 1999.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Techen (Bill McCorkle) of Austin, TX, and Marilou Mieszala of Denver, CO; her sons, Michael (Debbie) and Mark (Diane) of Libertyville; her brother, Michael Busse (Jane) of Chicago; and sister, Margie Teper (Frank) of Prospect Heights, IL; her grandchildren, Don Techen (Julie) of Lindenhurst, IL, Alex Hickey, Clayton Mieszala, RJ Mieszala, Mary Kate Mieszala, all of Libertyville, and Joyce (John) Hutter of Mundelein; great-grandchildren, Samuel and Jacob Hutter of Mundelein; numerous extended family members and friends.

Services will be on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 9:30 AM from The McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, to St. Joseph's Church, Libertyville, for Mass at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be at the funeral chapel on Friday, November 23, from 4:00-9:00 PM and Saturday from 9 - 9:30 AM. Interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration Motherhouse, 31970 State Hwy. P, Clyde, MO 64432-8100.

The family extends special thanks to the wonderful staff at Winchester House and from Midwest Palliative and Hospice Care who lovingly and respectfully cared for Dorothy during this last year. Funeral info, 847-362-2626.

Dear Mieszala Family ,Please accept my sincere sympathy & condolences on the loss of your mother.I am writing in my role as
Tuley H.S. Historian-Archivist and writer for our alumni newsletter, the Tuley Review. I have Dorothy E.A. Busse pictured in the Jan. 1940 yearbook, the Tuley Log. Along with the list of her school activities -also found your father, Chester Mieszala's picture and activities in the June 1940 yearbook. If you would care to have photocopies of these family keepsakes, please contact me. Also, let me know if your parents had left any Tuley items.

I had worked with Dorothy when I was a room mother at St. Joe's School. That was a long time ago. So sorry to hear of her passing. She was a great person.
