Russell P. Johnson

Johnson, Russell P. 71 years old, of Antioch, IL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, IL with his family at his side. He was born August 12, 1941 in Chicago, the son of the late Henry and Anna (Hahn) Johnson. Russ proudly served in the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne Division. After serving in the military, he joined Illinois Bell Telephone Company, where he met and married his beloved wife, Mary Kay (Caspari) in 1967. When first married, they had lived in Chicago and Elmwood Park, IL; and when their son, William was born, moved to Antioch in 1979. Russ retired after 30 years with Illinois Bell. He was a member of the Antioch Moose Lodge #525 as well as the American Legion. Russ was survived by his wife, Mary Kay; his son, Bill; sister-in-law, Joann Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, and nephews, Curt and Craig. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL. Interment with military honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery East, Antioch, IL. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Friday, at the funeral home. INFO 847-395-4000.
