David A Mitchell

RUSHVILLE, OH: A funeral service, celebrating the life of David Allen Mitchell, 52, of Rushville, will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Millersport home of The HOSKINSON-SCHOEDINGER Funeral and Cremation Service, with his brothers, Pastors Tim and Doug Mitchell as officiants. Private family burial will follow the funeral services.

David died suddenly, Sunday, January 1, 2012 at his residence. He was born August 14, 1959, in Zanesville, the son of the late Harry and Alice (Ginn) Mitchell.

David was a graduate of Shenandoah H.S., class of 1977, and was a skilled diesel mechanic. Along with his wife and family, he owned and operated Enterprise Engine Performance in Thornville and Mitchell's Ranch, in Rushville, working with exotic animals, participating in many live nativity scenes and vacation bible schools. He was a member of the Otterbein U.M. Church.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Loretta; his children Jenn (Greg) Mitchell-Wertz of Bedford, Pa., Beck Mitchell, Bob Mitchell, both of Rushville, Harry David (Dalenna) Mitchell of Virginia Beach, Va.; granddaughter, Rylan Mitchell; his siblings Tim (Teresa) Mitchell of Bloomington, Il., Roger (Nancy) Mitchell of Cumberland, Doug (Gena) Mitchell of Elizabethtown, Ky., Tammy Mitchell of Byesville, and Brian (Tarah) Mitchell of Thornville; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the Millersport Home of The HOSKINSON-SCHOEDINGER Funeral and Cremation Service, 11544 Summerland Beach Rd (at St.Rt. 204) in Millersport. An on-line guest register is available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com.

Memorials in his memory may be directed to "Water for Life", c/o Otterbein U.M. Church, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Hoskinson-Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for the Mitchell family.
