Goldie Mae Flowers

NEW LEXINGTON: Goldie Mae Flowers, 88, of New Lexington, formerly of Amanda, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at New Lexington Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born September 9, 1924 in Hocking County and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Bigham) Wilson. Goldie was a 1942 graduate of Gibisonville High School.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn (Bryce) Morrison of New Lexington and a son, Leroy (Connie) Flowers of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, four great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Flowers; half sister, Oleta "Fern" McCoy and half brother, Clifford Green.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday.

The family would like to thank the staff at New Lexington Care and Rehabilitation Center for the fine care and compassion given to Goldie during her stay.
