Joan Dominguez Obituary

Joan Elizabeth Bisaillon Dominguez

LANCASTER: Joan Elizabeth Bisaillon Dominguez, 59, of Lancaster passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Pickering House surrounded by family and friends after a long courageous battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease. She participated in clinical trials at the Cleveland Clinic to help find a cure.

Joan was born May 30, 1951 in Fall River, Massachusetts, to Edith M. Flanders and to the late Gordon W. Bisaillon. She was preceded in death by her brother Brian and sister, Nancy Bisaillon Burrows.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Dr. Robert Dominguez; precious sons, Robert and Alex; special daughter, Shara Burrows; siblings, Ronald Bisaillon of Somerset, MA, David (Pat) Bisaillon of Lancaster, Diane (Jimmy) O'Keefe of Dartmouth, MA; nieces, Heather O'Keefe and Kristen Bisaillon; nephew, Nick Bisaillon; and great nieces, Sophia and Stella Bisaillon.

Joan is also survived by many special angels who shared in caring for her throughout the last several years. She was a hero to so many of us, exhibiting grace throughout her illness. She was reassured by God's promises and often comforted those who were helping to care for her. We will miss her smiles, her joy, and her laughter she brought all of us, even during her toughest moments.

Visitation will be Thursday March 10, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Sheridan Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. Bernadette Church with Fr. John Reade as celebrant. Interment of cremains will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to: Pickering House, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 Cleveland Clinic "Fight ALS Fund", P.O.Box 931517, Cleveland, Ohio 44193.
