Keith Ruff Obituary
Pleasantville: Keith Alan Ruff, 57, joined his heavenly and earthly Fathers on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. He was born April 16, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio. He had worked as director of security at the John Glen International Airport. Keith was a strong man and a true fighter. Wearing many coats, he worked for Columbia Gas, was a pastor in various churches, he was in law enforcement, a probation officer, and EMT/firefighter for over 30 years. Keith fought the good fight with his heart for over 11 years. OSU Ross Hospital even did a documentary of all he went through including having the L VAD put in, in January 2013.
Keith is survived by his wife, Tracey Lynne (Morrison) Ruff; mother, Eleanor Ruff; sons, Keith Ruff Jr, Ranson Ruff and Matthew Ruff; sisters, Carol (Billy Thomas) Springer Jump and Kristen Grimm; special nieces, Medea, BrookLyn, Serenity, and Luci Springer, Sarah Ruff and Christa Springer; nephew, Brooks (Aby) Springer; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and of course, many great friends that were like family; and his furry four legged babies, Dog, Tiger, Smokey, Anna and Bushrod. Keith was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Earl Francis Ruff; brother, Kent Ruff; and brother-in-law, Chuck Grimm.
A visitation will take place Sunday from 2 - 6 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 PM in the funeral home with one hour prior visitation. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. Contributions may be made in Keith's memory to Morgan Funeral Home, 124 Fort St., Bremen, Ohio 43107. I just found out today when I was trying to contact him and his phone number was assigned to someone else. My heart sank. He was a kind guy who fought a good fight. Fought to be independent and so wanted to get a transplant. Keith, watch over me and guide me to others who need hope in recovery. You are free. Beckie your therapist.

Keith lived just up the street a few houses from me. He was a kind, caring and friendly neighbor. We spoke frequently about many things....I walk quite a bit daily and he would always talk to me as I would pass his house. I'll miss him and our conversations.
