I am very saddened to hear the news. Shep entered my life before becoming a teenager and playing on his major little league team for two years was a tremendous amount of fun for me. Our Huddles team was one of the best teams I have ever been a part of. At times, I still find myself talking about our tremendous success 35 years later. To most, it must sound crazy but those times meant so much to me. There is no doubt that others did too...Like the post my teammate Scott entered. Shep did that for us. I will never forget that when his arm was getting tired of pitching batting practice to all us players, Alan would come in for relief. He'd throw me curve balls of which I'd never seen and couldn't hit and laugh at me the whole time on the pitchers mound as I bailed out of the batters box! Good Times!
