Don was my first violin teacher in Santa Barbara, and a wonderful role model for me. Thanks to him, after my family moved to Sacramento, I won a competition at the age of 12 to solo with the Sacramento Symphony. I think of him often and fondly!

Thank you for keeping this obit up for such a lengthy time so we can all appreciate what a special man you lost. I didn't know him, but felt I did via your writing. My condolences.
