Dorothy De Felitta Obituary

Dorothy Gilbert De Felitta died peacefully at home, age 87, surrounded by her family, on November 2, 2015. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 16, 1928 and lived in New York City until moving to Los Angeles, where she lived very happily for forty-six years. She devoted her life to loving and caring for her family and her friends and wanted nothing more than for everyone to "live and be well." She was the devoted wife and partner of Frank De Felitta, the doting mother of Eileen and Raymond De Felitta, and the adoring and proud grandmother of Lorenzo De Felitta. Anyone who had the honor of knowing her was touched by her incredible warmth, unwavering cheerfulness and sunny optimism. She loved embroidering needlepoint, doing crossword puzzles, giving a great dinner party and watching Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies. Her passing leaves a great hole in our collective hearts and we remember her today, on what would have been her 88th birthday.

Dorothy was a lovely presence. I spent many memorable evenings with Dorothy and Frank in the home of mutual friends through the years, and remember her fondly. Condolences to the family.
