Eve Rubin

Eve passed away in Santa Monica at the age of 93. Born Evelyn Jean Harmon in Milwaukee. She graduated from North Division High School and was a junior lifeguard. She adored her mother, Jenny, who tragically died when Eve was 16. Moving to Chicago during World War II, she worked for the U.S. Army War Bonds office, and served the home front in patriotic fashion. She met Joseph Rubin, twenty years her senior, in 1950. He was the love of her life and they shared 25 years together, producing Steve Rubin, her only child. Joe moved the family west to Los Angeles in the fall of 1955. Eve embraced Joe's family and had 27 nieces and nephews. Eve worked at Sabrina's Lingerie Shop in Century City, she also was a real estate agent, and she donated her time to Hadassah, Child Service Aids and her extended family. She will be remembered forever as a woman who cared so much for her family, which now includes two lovely grandchildren, Jaymie and Darren and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Elisa.
Chapel and gravesite services will be held today afternoon at 3 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park 6001 Centinela Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
