Felice Reston

1933 - 2022

June 15, 1933 - August 8, 2022 Felice Reston passed away peacefully at her home in Beverly Hills. Fleeing the Nazi invasion of France during WWII, Felice eventually settled with her parents, Martin and Cele Helman, in Los Angeles when she was seven years old. Only knowing the French language, Felice learned to speak English in three months and assimilated quickly to her new life in LA. After graduating from Fairfax High she went on to study at USC. During this time, Felice also decided to reaffirm her French roots and attended the Sorbonne in Paris, where she reconnected with her two best childhood friends. Those friendships lasted until the day she died. Tapped right out of college to be a young clothing buyer for Bullocks Wilshire, Felice quit her dream job when she met her future husband, Herb Reston a recent UCLA MBA Graduate, on a blind date in 1956. She went on to marry and have a son, Cliff, and daughter, Dana.

As Herb's real estate business thrived, Felice became his design partner. Her aesthetic sense, elegance, and style was evident in the track homes Herb built across the San Fernando Valley, every apartment they rented and every building Herb built. Traveling the world was a great passion of Felice's which she did often with family and close friends. They also accumulated a large contemporary art collection over the years, in which Felice took great pride, and often hosted various art groups to visit their collection. Felice also supported numerous artistic causes by creating scholarship funds as well as being involved with many philanthropic endeavors such as the Scholarship Endowment Fund at Hebrew University, Blue Ribbon, LACMA Modern & contemporary Arts Council, Glass Alliance of LA, MOCA Arts Project Council, Planned Parenthood and Friends of Virginia Robinson Gardens.

Felice fought a six-year battle with Parkinson's and passed in her sleep surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Herbert D. Reston of Beverly Hills, her son Clifford M. Reston of Los Angeles (wife Toni, daughter Kristy and granddaughter Caroline) and her daughter Dana Reston Lyons of Beverly Hills (husband Robert and son Jaden).

Funeral will be at Mt. Sinai Hollywood Hills on Thursday, August 11th at 2pm.
