Frederick Tschannen Obituary

June 28, 1926 - December 9, 2013 Fred "Fritz" Tschannen, originally from Breese, IL passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 with his family by his side. He was a proud World War II veteran who served in the US Navy on LST 804 in the Pacific amphitheatre and exemplified the strengths of the Greatest Generation. He spent his entire career with American Standard Plumbing & Heating moving from St. Louis, MO to California. He retired in 1988 to Peoria, AZ where he lived until relocating to Valencia, CA in 2008. He was the beloved husband of 63 years of Dorothy "Babe" Tschannen (nee Dimitroff), loving father of Sally Tschannen and Marilyn Manley and son-in-law Thomas Manley, Jr., grandson Todd Manley, granddaughters Sarah Manley, Kaitlin Manley and Maegan Manley Stiles and husband Fred Stiles along with his great grandchildren Tyler, Jaden and Walker. He will be remembered by the twinkle in his eye and the dimple on his cheek. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project. A celebration of life will be held in June 2014 where we can share funny Fred stories. He will be dearly missed by all who ever had the pleasure to meet him and know him as a friend.
