George BUSHNELL Obituary

BUSHNELL, JR., George E. A long time Hawaii resident, died January 12, 2011 at the age of 95 in Medford, OR. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Santa Monica, he was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, retiring in 1965 with the rank of Captain. He was a prolific writer of "letters to the editor." In 1946 he helped to found Marwood, Ltd. and subsequently formed Oceanic Agencies. He retired in 1980 after selling his company to S&K Sales and assuming the position of VP and General Manager, Hawaii. George is survived by his son, George Bushnell of Los Angeles, CA, his sister, Nancy Bushnell Matlin of Concord, CA, and a niece and nephews. Half his ashes will be interred in Medford, Oregon beside those of his second wife, Vera Chestnut Bushnell ("Chessie"). The other half will be deposited in Punch Bowl Memorial of the Pacific beside the ashes of his first wife, Winifred Kiehl Bushnell.
