Gerald Bernard SURFAS

SURFAS, Gerald Bernard Today we celebrate the life of Gerald Bernard Surfas born July 31, 1916 and passed into eternal life to join his loving wife Anne on December 16, 2009, at the age of 93. Gerald was the youngest son of 16 surviving children of Harris and Ann Surfas. Gerald came to the United States in 1938 with a first class ticket aboard the Normandy from London to New York. Upon arrival he joined his brother and started a refrigeration and air conditioning business in Los Angeles, Surfas Incorporated. Gerald and Anne worked for many years to accomplish the successful business they built and that still continues to this day. In the 1960's his two sons Leslie and Gregory joined him to assist in making one of the most successful businesses in the Los Angeles area. In the late 1990's Gerald retired after more than 60 years in the workforce and began his own online website which again he built into a successful business and continued well into his 90's. Gerald was well known for his hard work ethic and his resiliency.
Gerald is predeceased by his wife Anne (1999) and survived by two sons Gregory (Barbara) and Leslie (Diane). He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: grandchildren Wendy Surfas-Lekavich (Tim), Sean Surfas (Patrice), Shelby Surfas and Steven Surfas; great-grandchildren: Bailey Anastasia and Millicent Anne. His family has been honored to have him in their lives and will miss him greatly. Now he and Anne can trip the light fantastic.
