Helen Williams Obituary

August 22, 1929 - April 12, 2014 Helen was born in Yonkers, New York. Her family had recently emigrated from England. When the Great Depression hit two months later, they returned to England, leaving everything behind. Helen was raised in the suburbs of London, where her father built homes and her mother was a nurse. During WWII, she and her siblings were sent to live with their grandfather in Scotland, to escape the bombs. Helen attended Harrow Art College in North London, where she met the love of her life and husband of 56 years, Trevor. They left England and moved to Toronto, Canada. As Trevor gained success as a Production Designer in the entertainment industry, their travels continued to New York, Connecticut and eventually settling in Los Angeles in the 70's. They had three children, Peter, Ben and Rebekah and four grandchildren, Dylan, Rhorey, Grace and Cooper. All of whom loved her deeply and will miss her everyday. Helen was a fabulous artist, who led a full, happy and exciting life. She enjoyed drawing, reading, walking and spending time with family and friends. She traveled and lived all over the world, while helping her husband with his job and raising children. She will be forever remembered for her sense of humor, her easy- going attitude and sunny disposition, her extensive artwork and her beautiful British accent, even though she liked to tell people she was from New York! A showing of her artwork is planned for the summer.

Trevor and Helen Williams have been my good friends and workmates since we became neighbors on Erskine Avenue, Toronto in 1956. You are both together now, and may you rest in peace. You left behind some good children and grandchildren, and I know they will live in peace.

THinking of you
