Yang, Herman Sen-Deh (83)
Died October 16, 2002. Born Chongqing, China. Married Dorothy Chang in 1945. B.S. Mech. Engineering, 1942, National Wuhan Univ., China; M.S., 1948, Iowa State; further study, Georgia Tech. Aerospace engineer 33 years for Lockheed in Marietta, GA and Burbank. As founder of Victue Engineering Co., designed machine equipment for several Georgia firms. Designed two homes built in Atlanta and Sherman Oaks, the latter overlooking the San Fernando Valley. He loved Chinese classical poetry, philosophy and opera as well as art, music, design, architecture, flowers, hiking, nature, travel and photography. He is remembered for his kindness and integrity. Survivors include his wife and three children, Constant (wife, Cathie Smith) of Fresno, CA; Emoretta, of Ithaca, NY; Faith (husband, Daniel Hoekstra) of Portland, OR; sister, Florence Lau, of Phoenix, AZ; niece, Luo Yan (husband, Hugo Shong) of Pasadena; other nieces, nephews and family in U.S. and China. Memorial services 2 p.m., Nov. 23, St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, 133 E. Graves Ave., Monterey Park, (626)571-2714.
