Jack Benjamin Hirsh

September 30, 1927 - February 24, 2015 Jack Benjamin Hirsh, a long time resident of Woodland Hills died peacefully in his sleep on February 24, 2015, at age 87, with his family nearby. Jack was the loving husband of Ruth Hirsh for 68 years, and devoted father to his 3 daughters, Anita, Donna and Paula. Jack is also survived by his sons-in-law Larry and Joe, his six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Jack served in the Army as an electrical engineer and continue in the field for over 50 years. Jack was a well informed and compassionate person. He founded the Rose Hirsh Chapter, City of Hope in memory o f his mother and served as Chapter President for over 10 years, helping to raise thousands of dollars toward the cure for cancer. During his retirement Jack served the community as an elder ombudsman, visiting retirement homes resolving grievances for its senior residents. Jack's life will be celebrated with a service on Friday, February 27, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Hollywood Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Rose Hirsh Chapter, City of Hope.
