10 years, I still miss you Dad.

Hi, Jim, Carole here. I am sitting in my apartment in New York and thinking of you. We - you, Susie and I have had many happy experiences together during our time and I deeply appreciate our friendship. Your wonderful sons, Will and Dan, have also been part of my life when they were available, I had wanted to send Sue a deli gift basket from NYC but since it might cause irreversible indigestion - thought it better to honor your presence in my life with a donation to the Barter Theatre and the Santa Barbara Symphony. I am sorry I am not able to join your family & friends on the 19th of May. But I want you to know my heart and thoughts will be there. Thanks for a great time!!! Love, Carole

My earliest memories include you, dear older brother, and in them you are the smartest kid in the room, the broadcaster with a studio in our attic, the boogie-woogie piano player, the cartoonist, the writer, photographer, family rebel, actor. You taught me to enjoy and profess our freedom from religion. Thank you, Jimmy, for your life well-lived, for being larger than life and loving it.

Jim qui aimait tant la vie et sa famille et ses amis, qui avait une telle présence et tant d'enthousiasme et d'érudition, laisse un immense vide derriére lui, mais son rire continuera encore longtemps de résonner a nos oreilles.

My Bro, the pathfinder for us siblings. You were the example of loyal friendship, tenderness, and strength in the face of enormous odds. You made a huge difference. I'll miss you.

Jimmy's frequent toast to us: "Health, love & wealth--and the time to enjoy them!"

I'll miss you Uncle Jim. You will leave a large hole in our family and everything will be quieter and less interesting without you.

I remember James with fondness. He was fantastic in the role of Marley in the Christmas Carol at the Granada in 2008. He was funny, delightful and a wonderful actor. My condolences to the family.
