I can't describe how much I miss my Dad, his personality, fun sense of humor, and his on going activities. I am at a loss without him, bored with my life, missing our usual upcoming Catalina trips. Dad, too soon. I wasn't ready for this....

Papa was one of my biggest inspirations. He was a hardworker, an honest man, and never took anything for granted. He was an amazing grandfather to us grandchildren and always had our best interests at heart even if we didn't feel the same way. Any accomplishments I create for myself I know that he was a major factor in how I came to conquer my goals. I love you PAPA.

To Cissy and the entire Lewis family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.
However, please know that Jerry was an inspiration to me and many others in the used machinery business. He was tough as nails, yet always with a smile. His humor and zest for life was contagious.
He was truly one of the "great ones".

On our way to Catalina one afternoon, about 5 miles out of the breakwater, something caught fire in the engine room. As the rest of us stood there stunned, Jerry sprang into action. Without missing a beat, he took the water hose in the cockpit and wet down a hand towel. Placing the wet towel over his nose and mouth with one hand, he took the hose with the other hand and marched down into into the engine room through the smoke to save the boat. Moments later, he emerged victorious. His bravery was and will remain an inspiration.

We, the members of the L..A. Billfish Club will miss talking to Jerry, along with Dennis and Randy, out there on the high seas. He definitely will be missed.

Jerry was an inspiration to me as he was to many others. I met Jerry in 1966 through business but, soon became very good friends with him and Cissy and even though we lived far apart we kept in touch. Like many others, I will miss Jerry very much.

My husband and would always look forward to seeing and talking to Jerry when we stayed at our boat on the weekends.
