Joe Castruita Obituary

March 19, 1949 - December 21, 2014 Joe passed away at the age of 65 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patti Castruita, 3 daughters, Michelle Beringer, Melanie Quinonez and Melissa Castruita, 5 grandchildren and 10 siblings. He graduated from Bishop Amat in 1967, honorably served in the US Army and retired from PacBell after 30 years. Viewing will be held Jan 4, 2015 at 5pm at Todd Memorial Chapel, 326 North Indian Hill Blvd, Claremont with Rosary to follow at 6:30pm. Funeral mass will be held Jan 5, 2015 at 10am at Holy Name of Mary, 724 E. Bonita Ave, San Dimas. Memorial service will follow at Riverside National Cemetary at 1pm, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America at http://www.vva.org/support.html

Joe and I were classmates at Nativity Elementary School and Bishop Amat. I remember him as a warm and friendly person. I was saddened to hear of his passing from Steve Proctor, who was also our childhood friend. My deepest condolences to the Castruita family on your profound loss.

Although I have not seen Joe in many years, we were classmates at Bishop Amat. We were in classes and athletics together, and I remember him to be a kind, funloving, intelligent and outgoing classmate. May Joe rest in peace. My prayers are with his family.
