January 25, 1973 - October 31, 2016 Kenya Amanda Boone, 43, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, at her home in Torrance, CA. She was born on January 25, 1973, in St Louis Park, MN. to Willie Benton Boone, MD and Jean Hubbard Boone. Kenya grew up in Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from the Westlake School for Girls in 1990. She received her B.A. in English from Columbia University with minors in French and Film. Kenya was a compassionate human being who helped those most in need She delivered Meals-On-Wheels and volunteered for Habitat For Humanity. As Kenya became ill and struggled with life issues, she remained positive and surrounded herself with art and music, and treasured her family Kenya is survived by her mother, Jean Hubbard Boone of Los Angeles; her father, Willie Benton Boone, MD, and stepmother, Diane Boone of Rancho Palos Verdes, her sister Krystal Van Buren (George), nieces, Amanda and Amira of Murietta, CA,and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly. A memorial service was held at Angelus Funeral Home, Los Angeles on November 4, 2016. The family requests donations be made to the Torrance-Lomita Meals-On-Wheels by donating online at www.tlmow org.
