Lee Beattie Obituary

April 24, 1934 - April 24, 2016 Lee John Beattie, the only child of Frances (Weldon) and Lee Jay Beattie, grew up in Fairfield, CT. He played football for Dartmouth College while earning a degree in Economics in 1957. Upon graduation, he served our country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp. Lee then pursued a forty year career in financial services. He managed brokerage offices in Torrance, Atlanta, Manhattan and Beverly Hills. As the offices grew and prospered, he felt honored to lead, mentor and inspire many people. Lee had a great sense of humor and was an avid reader. He loved his home and toy poodles. Lee is survived by his wife Mary Catherine Malmberg. To make a donation in Lee's memory, please select a charity of your choice.

I had the honor of working with Lee in the late 80's. A true gentleman and a great boss. I transferred and lost touch but remember him fondly.

Lee was the most wonderful boss. I had the pleasure of working for him in the 1980's and can not say enough about him. I am sorry I lost touch with him but will remember him for his great humor and fairness. Men like him do not come around very often and I am very proud to say I knew him.
