Nhan was born in Vietnam in 1936 to Bui Thi Mui and Dr. Le van Khai, Director General of Public Health in North Vietnam. In 1954 Nhan was amongst the first group of exchange students to study in Australia. It was on this fateful trip where he met his wife. In 1966, Dr. Levan was awarded the first PhD in electrical engineering at Monash University, one of the top universities in Australia. He will forever be in our hearts. G'day, mate.
