Mark Hatherill Obituary
Mark started his career modelling as "Ken", Barbie's boyfriend. It sparked a career that lasted more than 35 years in the toy and infant products industries. After Mattel, Mark enjoyed a long career at Playmates Toys, (Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek) and Munchkin, Inc. He was highly regarded by his colleagues in both the U.S.A. and Asia and his advice was sought by multiple start-up firms, consulting continuously until the end.
He was an advisor, a mentor and enjoyed friendships world-wide. He was remarkably honest in words and deeds, never compromising his integrity. He advocated for and inspired those who knew him and worked for him.
Mark had a huge personality and presence: tall and handsome, humorous, and charming. He loved cooking, and entertaining and spending time with his loving and fun-loving family in Ohio and beyond, (who share our profound grief). He loved cars to the extreme. He loved his garage and his enormous collection of tools to the extreme. He could fix anything.
Mark was a dedicated father who managed to raise two phenomenal daughters while still caring for his wife, Yvonne, when she was ill. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, unfailingly strong and supportive. The girls will honor his legacy by following the guidance and courage he exhibited for 20 years.

I worked with Yvonne for a few years at Herbalife and had only met Mark once for a staff get-together at their house one day. He was a very gracious host and to this day my wife and I often think of our short time spent there. He had made a large decanter of vodka with various fruits inside which had been left to ferment for a few days. It was delicious (maybe too so) as it was deceptively potent. A great time was had by all for sure. Yvonne and Mark are both top humans.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of this remarkable husband, father, brother, son, Mark A. Hatherill. I believe that he was a wonderful person who always had a big smile and a desire to offer kindness to those that he loved and met. I offer my sympathies and condolences to his family. I pray that the family will cherish, and love all of their great memories regarding Mark. Please know that I also pray for their peace, blessings and everlasting grace.

I got the opportunity/had the pleasure of meeting Mark twice in my life. I could tell just by sharing a few meals and homemade grapefruit concoctions that he was a special person. Even though I only got the two times to spend with him, he had a dramatic impact on my life for the better, and I am immeasurably better off for having met him. It feels like I lost a cool, long lost uncle.

Although I met Mark only once, I remember him well as being cordial as he welcomed me to his home where his family was throwing a birthday party for his sister-in-law Sylvia. I send my sincere condolences to his entire family. R.I.P. Mark
