Weinberg, Martin Bernard This beloved husband, father, grandfather and great friend was born on April 2, 1925, Santa Ana, California on April 2, 1925. He died on April 19 of spinal meningitis at Hoag Hospital with his family surrounding him. After a year in an Army Hospital he entered USC where he received a B.A. degree. He then attended UCLA Law School where he received his law degree in 1953. Martin practiced law in Orange County for many years, and is known for his work on a 1972 appeal case known as Marriage of Rosan, which changed the law and provided fairer support for spouses in separation and divorce cases. Later he branched into the field of commercial property. He was also a Professor of Law at Pepperdine Law School for many years. He had a passion for community health, serving as Orange County Mental Health Society, President of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties, also serving on the Board of the Epilepsy Society and Heritage Pointe Home for the Aging, which he helped found. He was a long time supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Buena Park and Human Options, which aids battered women and children. Martin's leadership and support for the Arts included his love for the Philharmonic Society and South Coast Repertory, on whose Boards he was a current member. He also was on the Dean's Advisory Council for the School of Humanities at UCI. His Fellowship for Creative Writing is annually benefitting talented new writers. He also founded a Men's Book Club, which is flourishing. Martin and Elaine were married in 1952 and raised their five children in Orange County. Paul, Robert, David, Nancy Dahan and William all reside in Orange County, and all seven in the family are attorneys. He also leaves ten grandchildren. Martin was a wonderful man who lived a life of honor, courtesy, kindness and generosity. He shared his warm humor and charm, his pleasure in sports and politics and his love of music and theater with many friends. His death was caused by spinal meningitis as a result of a medical test. I was only 5 years old when Martin passed, but I faintly remember him holding me in his arms and seeing his smiling face look up at me when I was a baby. I never had a conversation with my grandfather and it's clear to me that he was the best father any kids could have from what my relatives say. I also don't think my dad looks up to anyone as much as he looked up to Martin. My dad described Martin as the most gentle, caring and forgiving man he'd ever met and that has always stuck with me when I think of Martin. Sometimes I wish I had the chance to meet my grandfather and talk to him for just 5 minutes and experience what my father and my relatives had told me about him. I hope one day my dad gets a chance to talk to his father again because I can tell he sorely misses him. I certainly do to. Thank you for cultivating my amazing father, Martin.

Martin was the finest human being I have ever met. He has certainly touched our lives. I am only sorry that I had not met him years earlier, as I am sure he would have made an even bigger impact on us. His only match in life is his lovely wife, Elaine.

We love you both forever.
