Michael Lawrence Obituary

Artist Michael Lawrence passed away on November 26, 2021. He was the son of actor Marc Lawrence and writer Fanya Lawrence. He is survived by his sister Toni Lawrence and husband Eric Miller; his first cousins, Joanna Fancy, husband and school mate Richard Fancy, Melissa Goldsmith Stone, husband Larry, Joan and Gail Youngman, Deb, Alison and Scot Goldsmith. Michael lived and worked on the island of Hydra, Greece for the last 25 years. He was 78 years young and will be missed.

Michael was a close friend but we just found out that he passed. We last saw him two weeks before he passed. I loved his impressions of famous actors and his wonderful smile. We are also grateful to own six of his paintings and will cherish them.

This is a quick second message to the family of Michael Lawrence.
I am your cousin. In addition,
Michael's grandmother Sugarman, I believe, is or was the daughter of Frances Sugarman from Spartanburg. She was the sister of my mother Gertrude Morchand Marrett
who is deceased. I last saw Frances when I was 9 yrs old on our way moving from New York to California. She was my mother's closest sister. I live in AZ. I eventually lived around the world. If you want to contact me my email is [email protected].

Mike was my first real boyfriend in the 10th grade at Beverly Hills High School in 1959. He introduced me to the world of art.He actually designed his bedroom as a replica of one of Van Gogh's paintings. Richard Fancy, Mike & I were three best friends at the time. Mike & I were cousins by marriage. We lived across the street from each other in BH & socialized with each other's families. I always got such a kick seeing Mark, his father, in Hollywd movies, especially the James Bond films.Twenty years later at our 20th BHHS reunion in 1981 I flew in from London where I was living & he & I spent time together. He sketched me at his loft in Los Angeles. The same chemistry was there in our 30s! When Mike moved to Europe we spoke by phone. He asked me to move to Pari with him but, I was married at the time. He suggested I contact him if I became single again. Years later he moved to Hydra. ....l think of him often & have visited his website.
Once again, I was just thinking of him & just found this news of his passing. I am 78. He was a wonderful part of my life. He had the sexiest laugh & smile of any man I've known. ....My heartfelt sympathies to his family & friends.
