We never had a chance to meet. If you had not been taken from your family we would have met at one of your sister Cathy's Christmas parties. I wonder if you would have sung willingly or would Cathy have made you sing. I'm sure like us all you couldn't say no to her. See you in May

Mike as your recruiter and friend I want everyone to know that you were a high class individual. You were so proud of joining. You were really excited about the whole Army thing. I remember you telling me that your Little Man Terrell was so proud of you. Bro, even though you might of left us all you definitely made an impact on many. You will never beforgotten. I truly enjoyed the moments you would stop by when you were on vacation just to say What's up. I would always laugh cause we would talk about old stuff and I would always crack on you cause of your sweaty hands. Well my brother, I hope that you are Resting in Peace and getting everybody in trouble up in heaven. One day we will see each other again and when we do we will party it up. Rest in Peace Mike. Imagine this world as a tree, and all of us are the leaves. We cling to our branch as hard as we can, until we either loose our strenght and let go, or a sudden gust of wind takes us away in our prime.
Dear Michael, a terrible wind snatched you up, and we all felt how unfair it seemed. Questions and doubts are raised by the thousands but no answers will ever satisfy.
We, the remaining leaves, still cry over the large empty space in the tree where you used to be. No matter where we are, every leaf that falls affect the whole tree.
We, the remaining leaves, must comfort each other and carry on living as best we can, because if we dont, what will become of the tree?
We, the remaining leaves, must now keep the sadness down, and turn toward hope for a better future, where sudden gusts of wind are no more, and no leaves fall before their time.
We must, we will...
To Catherine and the whole family, may you feel the tree around you and all it's love.

To SPC Michael T. Manibog's family,
My family and I would like to share your grief over the loss of your beloved Mike..I know it's painful to lose someone and still wish he was here especially during this time that's supposed to be the happiest season of the year..
But always bear in mind that Mike's in a better state than we are, for he is finally at peace with his Creator, while us, we are still here struggling for survival..
It's tough but life would have to go on for the whole family, especially you Cathy, you always tell me how painful it is to accept that Mike's gone, but remember that the Lord will always be with you and your family to help you get through this painful phase of your life...
Cheer up! And smile thinking that God has plans for you....
Have a wonderful holiday and a bright new year ahead!!!

Mike..
It's your childhood friend, your next door neighbor Chris Canlas aka ESTONG here...I missed you very much. I think about you a lot bro. There's so much I want to say to you here...
Mike . . . to me you're still around. Even though we didn't see each other since 1992, nothings changed to me. You became my bestfriend and and an older brother to me instantly since 1983. There wasn't a day that we didn't see each other.
I missed you Mike. I missed hearing you scream "ESTONG!!!!! hoy kapit bahay!! Tibok tibok time!!" hahaha. Remember when we lost your Kalapati to a bet? We chased it all the way to Gasdam and I lost my left sandal cause of it? hahah
The best time of my life was when I lived next door to you, cathy and your whole family. And I mean that. Nothing could ever compare to those days. Nothing. I'll give everything that I have just to bring those days back in a heart beat.
Happy BIRTHDAY MIKE!! I MISSED YOU AND I LOVE YOU!

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,800 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

Dear Mike, I miss you too. I think you should have been named Smiley as you always wore a big one. As a veteran myself I know you made the ultimate sacrifice for all of my many rights and priviledges of being An American. You paid the price for my freedoms and for that I thank you. I know you know when I think of you and so indeed we do have a connection. I found some photos of when we all went to San Francisco at Christmas time, and I will keep them for awhile and then give them to your son. Just know you are not forgotten. Bonnie

It's the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press
It's the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech
It's the Soldier, not the politicians that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness
It's the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.

You're the "best Kuya(Bro)" ... you may have not been around much but those last times you tried to make up for the lost times will always remain in our Hearts. Especially in mine. I miss the way we make Catherine laugh so bad that she gets a bad tummy ache from laughing so hard and begs us to stop :-)
....Not a day i don't shed a tear and not a day i don't realize you're not coming back... People say it'll pass.. will it? When it feels like there's this big whole in my heart and I don't think it's gonna go away ? or heal back?
I'll promise to tough it up :-). I will never forget the hug you gave me in Georgia, during your Graduation. I was so Proud. It was kinda funny that we both wanted to cry so bad then but we both managed not to... i guess that's what we have in common aside from food and sports (football) :-)
I usually say " In time it'll heal " this time it won't.. but I will always have those wonderful memories to keep in my heart and to remember you always...

Whats up Mike, bro it took me three weeks to get stable enough to know what happened to us. I though I was having a bad dream, then it wore off into reality. The docs and my family told me what happened and I didn't know what to think or how to express myself. The fact of the matter is that you and I were pretty good friends, you and PJ made me laugh a lot and that kept us going. Im currently in Seattle paralyzed from the chest down. I think about you guys all the time, and pray for your families. Just remember I was your driver bro and it broke my heart to find out what happened to you guys. Love you bro, take care man.

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
