Myrna Aviles Obituary

AVILES, Myrna Elva Born on March 8, 1963, passed away in L.A. on Oct. 9, 2008. She was loved by many for countless reasons, but everyone who knew Myrna marveled at her quick wit and delightful sense of mischief. Having Myrna at your side meant that laughter was guaranteed, and even the most mundane events would turn into something fun because of her presence. Her beauty and large and knowing brown eyes commanded your attention, but they were just the lovely exterior of a woman with a warm heart, generosity of spirit and deep compassion for others. Myrna loved life, travel, wining and dining at fine restaurants, and entertaining family and friends. We wish she had the gift of more time - for her and for us - but she lived a full life during her years on earth. Myrna was born in L.A., and raised in both L.A. and Diamond Bar. She attended Ganesha High School in Pomona, and graduated from USC. She worked at Kaiser Permanente in Pasadena as a Human Resources Director. Her intelligence won the respect of coworkers, but it was her fun-loving nature that delighted them. She was the best daughter, sister and partner a family could have. She will be sorely missed, most especially by her family and domestic partner. She will be in our hearts and minds forever. Myrna is survived by her father and mother, Hugo and Olaya Aviles, sister Mary Moritz and husband Ron, brother Hugo F. Aviles Sr. and his wife Irene, nephews Eric, Ryan, Andrew and Hugo Jr., niece Katalina, her loving domestic partner Pamela Wegner, and her longtime beloved canine companion Dexter. A rosary was held on Oct. 16, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Mortuary in West Covina, 1 (800) 204-3131. Funeral service will be at St. Denis Catholic Church in Diamond Bar at 10 a.m. on Oct. 17, 2008.

Lovely, lively, fun, dear Myrna. For all of us who had the joy in knowing this uniquely beautiful person, may we all find the warmth of memories (and echoes of laughter) a comfort in the years to come. She gave this life her all, as she most certainly will do in the next. A strong, glorious spirit has now been released.

To darling Pamela, my heart is full of admiration for you dear one. Yes, you were indeed both very blessed to enjoy such rich devotion. That love is eternal. May you find peace in the days ahead knowing how many love and adore you.

Dear Pam and Aviles Family,

I had the pleasure of working with Myrna for a short time and will not forget the smiles she brought to me. I liked Myrna's laid back style and positive attitude because it made a hectic work situation seem effortless. :) May she always remain in your hearts. She will be missed!

Sincerely, Vickie Ureste, NCal Kaiser Permanente
