Peter Albano

Albano, Peter Passed away peacefully at home, on January 18, 2006. Preceded in passing by wife Mary Annis in 1995. Survived by loving children Carla Albano (George Cann), Lisa Ogren, Vince Albano, (Teresa), and Laura Albano. Also survived by loving grandchildren Shawn, Anthony, Drew, Cynthia and Ryan. Also survived by faithful dog, Timmie. Our heartfelt thanks to our devoted neighbor and friend, Pat Johnston.
Also we extend thanks to John Hall, Lisa Schwartz, Theresa Garibay and the Kaiser Hospice team. Dad, a Los Angeles native, enlisted in the Navy as a teenager. He was a proud, decorated WWII veteran. Upon graduating from USC, dad joined the L.A. Unified School District and taught at Gardena High School for most of his career. He mentored hundreds of students, and was especially proud of his continuation school successes. He was a dedicated teacher, always believing that his students could succeed. At the twilight of his teaching career, dad started a 2nd career as a writer. Over the next 30 years he authored 15 novels mostly of the WWII genre. With his passing, the "Yonaga" is in permanent drydock. Vince, Carla and Laura want to thank Lisa, our sister, for her years of caregiving and devotion. She was his daughter, tennis partner, housemate and friend. Most importantly Lisa was his soul mate.
