Mike:

I was recently notified of your loss by a relative of mine. Let me just say that over the years, during the course of my career, I had many a wonderful conversations with your father in his restaurant. He was a bright and decent person and one I was proud to have been associated with. May he rest in peace.

In the late 1950's, I took my girlfriend (now my wife of over 47 years) to Taix's for our first dinner date. We were in our teens. if memory serves me, I think the dinner for two was somewhere in the neighborhood of $10...............Taix's is a part of the Los Angeles history. As Bob Hope used to say, "Thanks for the memories".

The Taix family, their restaurant, and their sense of civic responsibility have always been second to none. Mr. Taix' passing is a loss to us all.

A part of a dynasty has left Los Angeles. Upon becoming a proud part of the TAIX working family 17 years ago I learned from Raymond that a smile and friendly disposition makes for a pleasant dining experience at the restaurant. As I continue to practice this tradition I will remember him each day.
My concern and sympathy is with the family as they start a new journey without Raymond.
