I met Bob in Rome during the shoot of the Stuart Gordon film set in the future, "Robot Jox." Cast members Bob, Danny Kamekona, Michael Alldredge and I soon formed a happy gang on the town. One night over drinks, laughter and a little impromptu singing we swore off cigarettes. After we went our separate ways Bob phoned from L.A. to report on a colleague we both knew who'd been hospitalized from a car accident. Bob described the visit to the man's bedside. Though he'd lapsed into a permanent coma Bob spoke to him assuming his words of comfort wouldn't be heard yet chancing that they might. Danny and Michael passed away some years ago. Now Bob--a sensitive, caring gentleman.

I´m so sorry for your loss. I had no idea that Robert had passed away. I´m actually a cousin of Robert. I never got a chance to meet him before he passed. My great uncle,Cecil Ostrom told me about him when I was a child. He was able to get me an autographed photo of Robert. I would love to meet anyone from the family as they are my family as well . Not sure if this will get to anyone since it´s been a couple of years since Robert has passed. But I´m hopeful. I live in Mesa Az. My phone number is (480) 584-0431

I knew Bob, as we called him, from Valley College. He was absolutely loved by everyone. I remember having a party at my house one night and he sat in the kitchen with my parents for an hour, just talking with them. Needless to say, they loved him, too. He was in lots of plays at Valley and, even back then, showed so much talent as an actor. And, the best part was, he was so kind to everyone! God Bless you, Bob. RIP.

As a teenage neighbor and a classmate of Orwyn I remember how acting was the only thing Robert wanted to do. And he did it, lived it. Good memories of a Canoga Park that no longer exists.

My condolences to the family for your loss. Years ago I was attempting to contact Robert Sampson to ask him about a film called "Ethan" (1964) that he starred in. I never managed to get in full contact, but I was interested in knowing about Mr. Sampson's involvement in this rare film and he gave an excellent performance in it. It's a shame "Ethan" is so rare to see these days. And yes, he is also great in the much loved horror classic "Re-Animator" and in the Twilight Zone episode 'Little Girl Lost'.
