He was born in New Market, Tennessee on August 16, 1913, the son of Rev. Philip Lester Shuler and Alma Mildred Shuler. He moved to Los Angeles as a young man where he met his future wife, Linda. They were married by his father's brother, the renowned Rev. Bob Shuler (Fighting Bob) of Los Angeles. Four children later they moved to Dallas. Bob was dependable and totally trustworthy which earned him positions in various fields requiring mental, mathematical and people skills. He became plant supervisor and Assistant Executive Director of the main Goodwill Industries plant in Dallas with 260 people under him before he retired. Bob enjoyed deep-sea fishing, especially for albacore in California. He was always active in the Methodist Church; his father, brothers, grandfathers, uncles and cousins were Methodist ministers. Most of all, Bob loved his family who loved him dearly. He will be sorely missed by us and by all who knew him. Memorial Service, Saturday, October 11, 10:00 A.M. October 8, 2003

I will always picture Thanksgiving as "Uncle Bob n Aunt Linda's House". The dark panel of the den with the mysterious WWII Jap rifles hung as trophies. Distant cousins, strange games, football in the autumn leaves...my father's family. I love you all always. Jay
