Sean Corrigan Obituary

Corrigan, Sean Timothy
December 31, 1956 - July 18, 2010
A warm smile and quick wit is how friends and family will remember Sean Corrigan, who passed away from Melanoma after a valiant two year battle with the disease.
A Southern California native, Sean graduated from CSU Long Beach in 1979 with degrees in Finance and Accounting. Sean started his career as a Certified Public Accountant in the Los Angeles office of Arthur Anderson in the Tax Department. His job took him to Europe, Asia, Australia and the jungles of the Amazon.
After leaving Arthur Anderson, Sean became a partner in the business management firm of Traubner & Flynn where he represented many of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Sean became an partner in Deloitte & Touche when Traubner & Flynn was acquired by the accounting firm. He continued to work as a business manager for entertainment clients and later was President of Parkway Productions.
Sean was an excellent athlete and avid surfer. He was a devoted Lakers, Dodgers and Angels fan. Sean approached his diagnosis in March 2008 with tremendous courage and grace. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Elizabeth Kendrick, his brothers Chris, Kevin and Tom, sister Cynthia, his niece and nephews, and his loyal and beloved dogs, Molly and Huxley. He will be missed as he was loved-greatly.
Services will be held at the Sacred Heart Chapel in Loyola Marymount University on August 19 at 4 pm. Donations in his name can be made to The Whitney Young Children's Foundation c/o Keesal Young and Logan, 400 Oceangate, Long Beach, CA 90802 or to the Los Angeles Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (spcala.com).

Happy Birthday Sweet Sean! I remember going to Los Alamitos at the holidays and spending the 31st with you and the family--eating ice creme cake and trying to stay up until midnight. You are always in my thoughts.

I was very saddend to hear of Sean's passing. As his cousin, we tend to drift away in life, each with our own lives.

I can share a moment that I can recall vividly about our Grandmother Agnes.
I remember when she talked of Sean, she would get a beaming smile on her face. Being close to her, I know she was extremely proud of Sean and would often talk of Elizabeth also. Of all the grandchildren, Sean held a special place in our grandmother's heart.

My deepest sympathies to Elizabeth and the entire Corrigan family. I know he will sorely be missed. I can remember as a child getting together and always having such a good time with the Corrigan family.

I know from reading the memorials here, that Sean was a special person to all he knew and will be sadly missed. Oh so young to go.

Sean and I began our careers at Arthur Andersen. From the outset Sean displayed intelligence, diligence, a strong sense of fairness and a very wry wit. More than once he surreptitiously called me pretending to be a client. Speaking a strange accent, this client would inquire as to why some obscure tax provision had not been used to his benefit. Terrified, I would listen to the stranger while searching through tax laws for some clue as to the overlooked tax issue. After having his moment of fun, Sean would laugh and say, “Joe it’s me.” Once out of the blue Mohammed Ali called me. Not to be fooled again I said to him, “Sean is that you”? That one I could never live down!
During his illness, I visited Sean regularly. Through it all his mind remained sharp, his outlook positive and his body surprisingly strong. A home medication included almost any well written and acted television episode or movie and Bonanza. Sean loved Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad and knew every punch line in every Seinfeld episode. I helped him do his taxes. First, we looked for records, and then we took a break. The day continued with more searches and diversions until the afternoon was almost gone. Sean then likened our actions to Seinfeld when Jerry and George were to write a script for the pilot and did everything but that. Later, hearing that my children insisted upon a Festivus dinner during the holidays, Sean demanded to know every seedy detail. I will miss Sean’s insight and wit; his friendship I will keep with me always. In his memory I am making a contribution to the Human Fund.

My brother, Sean, was a warm, loving person who regarded his family
above all. I couldn't let a visit to L.A. go by without watching a Dodgers' or Lakers' game. He will always be in my heart. Cynthia Quigley

R.I.P. Uncle Sean - not a day goes by that the memories and impact you've had on my life won't be celebrated, appreciated and remembered. Until recently you weren't my "Uncle" by law, but you were always my Uncle in my heart and eyes. Thank you for always being one of the most generous, caring, kind and remarkable people I've ever had the pleasure to meet, know or love in my life time. May your legacy forever remain in my heart, mind and soul. There will never be enough words to explain or express the respect, admiration and love that I've always held and have towards you but I am hoping this is a good start. God bless.
