Steven Dresner Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Steven C. Dresner. He died peacefully in his sleep on July 19, 2024.
Steve was the founder of Eyesthetica, the largest private physician group dedicated to oculofacial plastic and cosmetic surgery in the Los Angeles area. His contributions to the ophthalmic community were vast including creating innovative surgical procedures and inventions that benefited both his patients and colleagues. He trained sixteen fellows and scores of ophthalmology residents. These mentorships were the highlight of his career.
Steve cared deeply about the whole patient, often discussing the benefits of plant-based diets during surgical consultations. (patients sought him out for eye surgery, and often left vegans!)
Steve was committed to helping, having just returned from a medical mission in the Ukraine where he was able to treat both children and patients with catastrophic war injuries. He planned to return this fall.
Steve beat cancer twice and overcame several life threatening conditions. He was an athlete, adventurer and lover of art and culture.
Steve was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, son and friend.
He is predeceased by his parents, Dr. Sol and Mildred Dresner. He is survived by his wife, Bryn Freedman; his sons, Noah and Gabriel; his daughter, Lily; and his sisters, Marcia Kabaker and Joanne Dresner.

Today I found out Dr. Dresner had passed away in July 2024. To said I was stun and surprised is putting it mildly. I met Dr. Dresner when I was 24 years old . I suffered from child abuse from the hands of father which caused me to lose my right eye. Dr. Dresner informed me about a new procedure to improve the movement and the overall look of my artificial eye. He changed the how I looked at myself . I am forever grateful to him . I am now 59 years old and I am so glad I met Dr. Dresner he changed my life!

I just googled Dr. Dresner because a friend needed a surgeon for his eyelid. So sad to hear that he passed away. My first skin cancer, age 29, was on my lower eyelid margin and Dr. Dresner took care of me, removed the middle section of my eyelid but saved my tear duct, so that it healed perfectly and was never noticeable. I ran into him a while ago and was able to tell him how much I appreciated him. Sorry he is gone.

Hi- my name is Diana, and I was one of Dr. Dresner's patients back in the 90's- I was only 10 years old and I have a very rare condition that both my lacrimal ducts on both eyes were closed since birth. I have had 7 operations total, 5 in my home country and 2 here, with Dr. Dresner. I just found out this week that he had passed away a few months ago. I hope his wife, Bryn or children get to read this- Dr. Dresner was such a happy doctor, as a 10 year old, he made me feel safe and I will never forget how he always had a little lollipop for me at the end of our consults. My mom received his help from the Group of Lions, and he was able to help me with one of my eyes, i am 41 years old now, and I still remember him like it was yesterday. He is surely missed. So thank you, so much, for caring for me and bringing ease to my mother as she was going through this with her child. I am so grateful to God for you, I pray we meet again in Heaven. May the Dresner family be incredibly blessed, I am so very sorry for your loss and I pray God may continue to comfort you and give you peace. Thank you and I will never forget you, Dr. Dresner, I will forever be your patient, even in heaven. God bless.

I was so lucky to have worked with Dr. Dresnerin the OR. We all enjoyed the verbal sparring. I know he loved his family dearly. Great man.

So sorry to hear about Steve´s passing. I knew Steve from elementary school all the way through high school. We share a lot of experiences, especially with the biology club in high School. We took a lot of trips into the woods in the biology club. I had a long talk with Steve at our 50th high school reunion. He was a good guy and offered a very fun companion. I live in Nashville, Tennessee I remember him telling me that one of his kids went to Belmont University for music.
