Sylvia Gumbiner Obituary

GUMBINER , Sylvia Mae
Wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, passed away January 8, 2007 in Los Angeles.
Sylvia was born June 28, 1931 in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Sol Gertz, and her husband Sherwood Gumbiner.
Sylvia is survived by her son George Gumbiner (and his wife Sheera) of Denver, her sister Suzanne Jeanne Miller (and her husband Don Z. Miller) of Paradise Valley, Arizona, her grandchildren Asher and Talia Gumbiner of Denver and her niece and nephew Kathy Patman (and her husband Andy Patman) and Michael Miller (and his wife Tami Miller).
She attended Arizona State University and Denver University. Sylvia was an accomplished artist whose visual art was exhibited at the Los Angeles Museum of Art, other galleries, and a number of one woman shows. Until recently she was an avid golfer and a member of Hillcrest Country Club. She was a patron of the arts and a world traveler. Sylvia will be remembered by her many friends and family for her sense of humor, vivaciousness, and love of life. She was a real charmer.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10th at 1 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Sylvia Gumbiner's Memorial Fund at Cedars Sinai Medical Center (310-423-6097) or in her name to the PS Arts Program (310-586-1017).
