Trana K. Labowe

1930 - 2023

October 24, 1930 - March 7, 2023 Trana K. Labowe was predeceased in life by her loving husband of 63-years, Ronald B. Labowe. They were childhood sweethearts, having met in junior high school at the age of 12.
Trana had a wonderful life. She was a native Los Angeleno, born in Boyle Heights, but grew up in Los Feliz and attended Marshall High School. She obtained a degree in physical therapy from Children's Hospital, Los Angeles and her Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA, where she was a proud member of the AEPhi sorority.
Trana and Ron moved to "the valley" in the mid-1950s and settled in on Cumpston St. where they became fast friends with other young families starting out in life. Everyone that grew up on Cumpston St. fondly refers to it as "the Old Block."
Trana and Ron were active in the Jewish community – members of Adat Ari El (formerly VJCC) for over 60 years and Havurah Ki Tov – and supporters of many Jewish organizations and causes over the decades, including assisting Russian Refuseniks immigrate to Israel.
Trana was passionate about the performing arts, and she shared this love with her family. Together with Ron, Trana was a Founder at the Los Angeles Music Center. Attending concerts and musicals were some of her greatest joys.
Trana loved the beach, especially Newport Beach and Maui, and traveled the world with Ron, their family and friends.

Her funeral will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 - 11:30am (PDST).

Trana is survived by her four children, Mark (Lena), Ricky, Kenneth (Chantelle); and Sara; her eleven grandchildren - Jodi, Emily, Aaron (Rachel), Noah, Kaitlyn, Erik, Cece, Batsheva, Katya, Elijah and Jaden; and her great-grandson, Levi.
