William Foist Obituary

Foist, William Fillmore
Born Indiana July 26, 1932, died October 18, 2005 in Long Beach after a 14-year battle with cancer. Attended Culver Military Academy, South Pasadena High School, and West Point. Served in the U.S. Air Force. Received a B.S. from CSULB where he was captain of the first crew team. Graduate studies at ASU and UCLA; currently a PhD candidate in Global Economics. Adjunct faculty and guest lecturer at Regents College in London, USC, Chapman University, Brooks College, ASU and UCLA. At North American Aviation, he became part of the original Project Apollo team, participating in the development of the Lunar Exploration planning, then serving as Apollo Program Control Chief. He founded Systems Associates, Management Planning Corporation and Behavior Research Center. Served as Planning V.P. at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, and Practice Development Director at Coopers & Lybrand, L.A. An active member of the World Affairs Council, World Trade Center Association, and the Directors Roundtable, Bill was currently Finance and Administration Executive V.P. of Solana MedSpas and CFO of Nouvisage in Irvine. Always engaged in community service, Bill was a member of the Madison School Board, Environmental Planning Commission, Central Arizona Health System Agency, Planning and Zoning Commission. Became a member of LA5 Rotary in 1981, serving three years on the Board of Directors and five years as World Community Service chair. Jonathan Club member since 1981, past President of the Breakfast Club. Bill leaves his most precious and beloved legacy: his daughters Elisabeth Whitlinger, Laura Hunter and Dana Foist and granddaughters Morgaine and Cordelia, as well as his wife of 50 years, Eve. Memorial service to be held at noon on Wed., Oct. 26, at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Dr., Corona Del Mar. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the William Foist Memorial Fund at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. Please contact E. Sullivan at (310)267-1837.
