Although we only had the privilege to know Bill for a short time when we were working on a recent research project, we knew he was a unique and rare individual. As his wife would say, “Bill was a renaissance man”, he was a true renaissance man. He had an interest in everything and was just as knowledgeable. He was a benefit to mankind and it will be difficult for anybody to fill his shoes. He loved his wife and family more than anything and always placed them above all else. He was a very kind man and gave far more than he ever received. To all that knew him, he will be dearly missed. To those who never had the opportunity to meet him, they will get another chance in heaven. Just look for the man reading among stacks of books piled around him.
