PINEHURST — Alma "Lucile" Butler Knight, 91 of Pinehurst, formerly of Laurinburg passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Lucile, daughter to the late Pearl Andrew Butler and Alma Jane Stephens Butler was born in Scotland County on April 10, 1926. She graduated from Laurel Hill High School and retired after many years of service with Belk. Lucile loved spending time with her family and playing cards with her friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Knight and brothers, Earl Butler and Nathan Butler.
Lucile is survived by her brother, Leon D. Butler of Laurinburg, her nieces, nephews, a host of loving cousins and special caregivers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Maxton. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. until noon at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
The family requests in lieu of flowers for memorial donations to be given in her memory to FirstHeatlh Hospice House and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 5889, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
