YOUNGSVILLE — John Henry "Buddy" Junior Williams, 70, formerly of Laurinburg passed away on Jan. 6, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Wright Cemetery. The Rev. Lee Jackson and the Rev. Ron Brisson will officiate the services.
Buddy was born on March 17, 1943 in Marlboro County, S.C., son of the late John H. Williams, Sr., and Lela Stubbs Williams. He was the owner and operator of Williams Logging Company. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and cutting grass. He attended New Life Church and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son John H. Williams, III and siblings Eugene Williams, Gertrude Lewis, Maxine Norton, and Pauline Dean.
Buddy is survived by his wife Carol Williams of the home, sons David Lee Williams, Sr. of Rockingham and John "Delton" Williams and wife Ashley of Laurinburg, five grandchildren: David Lee Williams, Jr., Anthony Williams, Sarah Nicole Williams, and Carter Williams.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial gifts be made to Lighthouse Outreach, P.O. Box 2442, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
